Gabriela, voices of conservation

Gabriela Loaiza, a Machiguenga leader, at the sacred waterfall of Koribeni. She has begun a project to collect and document the history and cosmovision of the Matsigenka people by visiting the elders of her community and recording their conversations. With determination, she states: “The only book written about us is a version by the Dominicans. We must write our own history.”
