Kâ | we are rivers

An invitation to immerse oneself in the dream of the Xakriabá people, who seek to reclaim part of their territory, which extends to the banks of the São Francisco River, reestablishing their relationship with the waters and reviving the memories preserved in stories, songs, and histories. However, as they get closer to this reclaiming, they mourn the sight of the river, which was once the cradle of many peoples, dying more and more each day. Thus, the reclaiming of the land is also a reclaiming of the waters. A reclaiming that harks back to the times of the “old trunks,” where part of a people’s ancestral wisdom resides.
