The aim was for the photographs to not only stand out visually but also to reflect the challenges of climate action and the connection between Indigenous knowledge and biodiversity conservation, thereby ensuring that the chosen images contribute to the conversation about sustainability and Indigenous culture.<\/p>\n<\/div> Filmmaker from the Mbya Guaran\u00ed people with over 20 years of experience in the audiovisual field. He directs documentaries and films, and promotes cultural workshops for indigenous youth. From 2019 to 2022, he was a representative of the Guarani Yvy Rupa Commission. Founder of the Marac\u00e1 Institute and member of the Aty Mirim Council of the Museum of Indigenous Cultures in S\u00e3o Paulo. He lives at the Mbya Arandu Por\u00e3 Cultural Center in Brazil.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div> Editor and curator. She leads the project “Selvagem \u2013 cycle of studies on life”, which promotes discussion circles, cinema, photography, and books, interweaving scientific, artistic, and traditional knowledge. This initiative honors and highlights photographs that depict climate action, offering an artistic and creative perspective on the conservation of socio-biodiversity and the socio-ecological transition, contributing to a sustainable future for our planet.<\/p>\n The curatorship seeks to reach audiences across Latin America, including Indigenous photographers, promoting their recognition and visibility while encouraging society at large to reflect on the importance of understanding, valuing, and preserving biodiversity, as well as acknowledging and honoring the invaluable knowledge of Indigenous Peoples. Inspired by thoughts such as \u201cYou see things, you dream, you know the xapirip\u00eb [spirits]. Shamans can cure forest diseases\u201d by Davi Kopenawa, and \u201cstep softly on the ground\u201d by the philosopher, writer, and storyteller Ailton Krenak, the exhibition underscores the urgency of learning from both human and non-human teachings as a way to understand and transform our relationship with planet Earth.<\/p>\n This initiative is led by the Amazon Cooperation Treaty Organization<\/a> (ACTO) and the Euroclima<\/a> program, funded by the European Union, co-funded by the German Federal Government through the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), and implemented by Deutsche Gesellschaft f\u00fcr Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH, the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC), and the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation (AECID).
