The guardians of the jungle

Alexandra Narváez, from the Cofán community of Sinangoe, is part of the Indigenous guard created in 2017 in response to the granting of Cofán territory for mining activities, without consulting its inhabitants. She is the only woman in this guard, dedicating herself to mapping her territory and defending it against miners and loggers who threaten its ecosystem.
