The ACTO delegation, integrated by the Secretary General, Alexandra Moreira, the Executive Director, Carlos Lazary and the Administrative Director, Carlos Salinas, who is on an official visit to Peru, participated in the opening of the II Ordinary Session of the Peruvian Permanent National Commission for the Amazon Cooperation Treaty Organization (CNPP/OTCA), in the Ministry of Defense of Peru.
At the opening, the ACTO Directors expressed their appreciation for the work carried out by the CNPP/OTCA and said that it is an example to be followed by other Member Countries, since the creation of the Permanent National Commissions (CNPs) is a mandate of the Amazon Cooperation Treaty and is able to coordinate and articulate its work.
The Directors of ACTO also visited the Amazon and National Surveillance Center (CEVAN), a unit of the Peruvian Air Force (Ministry of Defense), to learn about their work with technology and software related to Geographic Information Systems (GIS) for the protection of the Peruvian Amazon.
