Today morning, January 2, the Secretary-General of ACTO, Alexandra Moreira held a meeting with the Minister of the Environment and Sustainable Development of Colombia, Susana Muhamad, and the Minister of the Environment, Water and Ecological Transaction of Ecuador, Gustavo Manrique Miranda at the headquarters of the organization.
Minister Susana Muhamad explained that the government of President Gustavo Petro is very interested in reinforcing, revitalizing, and giving a political commitment to ACTO.
Additionally, she accentuated that, currently, there is a good environment to conduct a Summit of Presidents among the Amazonian countries.
Minister Gustavo Manrique declared that the Ecuadorian government is committed to the Amazon region, and added that the implementation of the Summit of Presidents of the Amazon this year is very important for the region.
“Today we have had a meeting to improve the governance, the mobilization of the resources, and to understand the life plans of the communities. Now we have a pragmatic work agenda to hold the Summit of Presidents and to achieve the implementation of it this year”, he declared.
