Brasilia, August 23, 2019.-Technicians in water resources of the Amazon countries are participating at the eighteenth edition of International Course of the discharge measurement in Large Rivers, 22/08, in Manaus, Brazil.

The course that was held until August 31 is carried out by the National Agency of Water (ANA Brazil) and by the Geologic Service of Brazil (CPRM) and has the aims of training to the techniques and methodologies used for measuring and calculating the water discharge in large rivers in order to standardize and spread this knowledge.

The directors of the National Water Agency (ANA), Marcelo Cruz and Ricardo Andrade participated of the opening; the secretary of environment of Amazonas, Izaias Nascimiento; the director of meteorology and territorial management of the Geological Service of Brazil (CPRM), Antonio Carlos Bacelar Nunes; the regional superintendent of the Geological Service of Brazil (CPRM), José María da Silva and the president director of the Regulatory Agency for Delegated Public Services of the Municipality of Manaus (Ageman), Fabio Augusto Alho da Costa.

A visit to the Manacapuru station and practical exercises on the school ship on how to calculate the measurement of liquid discharge by the anchored ship method is planned. Presentation of the support instrumentation installed on the banks of the Solimões River is also scheduled for measurements with large river methods and anchored ship among others.
