The Secretary General of ACTO, Alexandra Moreira held a meeting with the Director of the United Nations Forest Forum Secretariat (UNFF), Juliette Biao Koudenoukpo, with the aim of strengthening cooperation between the UNFF and ACTO, as the Amazon Basin is a watershed of great relevance and because it is home to the most continues tropical forest worldwide.
Juliette Biao Koudenoukpo acknowledged ACTO’s commitment and support in the efforts towards meeting the Global Forest Goals and Targets, thanked the Organization for its relevant participation in the UNFF and its contribution to the Regional Forest Programme for the Amazon Basin/ Region.
During the meeting, they also addressed other issues such as the importance of the activities and actions carried out in different continents by regional entities such as the ACTO and the Central African Forests Commission (COMIFAC) in Africa; and on the importance of seeking cooperation on operational and practical issues in the framework of the implementation of the Regional Forest Programme.
