Brasilia, September 22, 2016.- During the 17th Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Illegal Trade in Endangered Species (CITES COP 17), the Amazon Cooperation Treaty Organization (ACTO) will hold a meeting on 28 September in Sandton Convention Center in Johannesburg, South Africa, a parallel event on the initiatives of new technology and the use of information and knowledge systems to improve the conservation and sustainable use of CITES species in the Amazon Region.
These initiatives include a brief description of trade of wildlife in the Amazon; the key of an electronic identification for the commercially representative species of wood of the Amazon and the Regional Project for the Management, Monitoring and Control of wild fauna and flora threatened by trade that has recently entered the implementation phase.
