The Amazon Cooperation Treaty Organization (ACTO) is inviting qualified professionals to apply for the position of Administrative Assistant for the project “Towards a Better Understanding of Amazonian Aquifer Systems for Their Protection and Sustainable Management” (GEF ID 11108).
Funded by the Global Environment Facility (GEF) and implemented by ACTO with the support of UNEP and the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), the project seeks to strengthen scientific knowledge and promote the sustainable and coordinated management of Amazon Aquifer Systems shared by Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru and Venezuela.
The selected professional will provide administrative, logistical and operational support to the Project Coordination Unit (PCU), contributing to the efficient implementation of project activities and ensuring the proper management of documentation, administrative processes, event logistics and institutional coordination.
Main Responsibilities
The Administrative Assistant will support project implementation through:
- Document and records management.
- Administrative and financial support activities.
- Organization and coordination of meetings, workshops and technical missions.
- Support for procurement, contracting and payment processes.
- Coordination of communications and correspondence.
- Maintenance of project databases, inventories and filing systems.
Professional Profile
Applicants should hold a university degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Auditing, Economics, Commercial Engineering or related fields.
The position requires demonstrated experience in administrative support, preferably within international cooperation projects, as well as strong organizational, communication and teamwork skills. Experience related to the Amazon region, environmental projects or water resources management will be considered an asset.
Duty Station
The position will be based at the Permanent Secretariat of ACTO in Brasília, Brazil. Availability for occasional travel to ACTO Member Countries is required.
