The Secretary-General of ACTO, Alexandra Moreira, is a panelist in the virtual event “Nexus Solutions and Investments in Latin America and the Caribbean”, organized by the host of the Convention on the Protection and Use of Water Courses Transboundary and International Lakes -Water Agreement-, the CEPE, the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC) and the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB).
This event taking place on 02/22, aims to initiate a dialogue about the experience achieved in the application of the nexus solutions and investments made in the region, as well as to discuss implementation possibilities.
This meeting brings together project managers and experts in the design and implementation of cross-sector policies, programs or projects, and institutions interested in cross-border nexus solutions and investments.
A debate will take into consideration the analyzes carried out by ECLAC and UNECE about the solutions of the nexus and investments in the Latin American and Caribbean region, especially the financing issue. Finally, the concrete possibilities to advance the nexus agenda in the region will be discussed.
The main inputs of this consultation will be reflected in the ECE’s publication in collaboration with the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) “Balance of Nexus Solutions and Investments in Transboundary Basins”, as well as in the ECLAC publication “Comparative analysis of actions with a focus on the Water-Energy-Food Nexus: Lessons learned for the countries of Latin America and the Caribbean”.
