On April 25, the Amazon Cooperation Treaty Organization (ACTO) welcomed Alicia Montalvo Santamaría, Manager of Positive Climate Action and Biodiversity, and her executive team, consisting of Cecilia Guerra, and Alicia Molina, from the Development Bank of Latin America (CAF) to its Permanent Secretariat headquarters in Brasilia. ACTO and CAF had previously signed a Framework Agreement for cooperation on February 1, 2022, which is presently being executed through Technical Cooperation with a focus on strengthening and expanding the Amazon Regional Observatory (ARO) in the crucial areas of climate change, forests, and biodiversity. During the visit, ACTO and CAF actively explored potential areas for new strategic partnerships and jointly developed a roadmap for supporting the Amazon region.
