Meetings for regional knowledge exchange before the 69th Permanent Committee of CITES

Brasilia, November, 06 2017.- In order to offer a forum for conversation of the ACTO Member Countries to evaluate legislation topics and change information on regional interests before the 69th Permanent Committee of CITES will be held from November 7 to November 9, in Lima, Peru.

These regional meetings (exploratory regional workshop to establish the Amazonian Network of CITES Authorities, judges and prosecutors to fight against the illegal smuggling of wild animals and the Preliminary Regional Meeting of 69th Permanent Committee of CITES Convention) have been organized by the ACTO Permanent Secretariat in collaboration with the government of Republic of Peru via Ministry of Foreign Affairs and SERFOR, with the support of Amazonian Regional Program (BMZ / DGIS / GIZ).

It is expected to make an advance when it comes to fulfillment, legislation and revision of the the Amazonian Network of CITES Authorities, judges and prosecutors and; agenda of the 69th Permanent Committee of CITES to evaluate a regional perspective of Amazonian cooperation.
