The Amazon Cooperation Treaty Organization (ACTO) deeply regrets the passing of the National Director of the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ), Michael Rosenauer, on Friday (17).
Rosenauer has played a key role in strengthening cooperation between Germany and ACTO. Since 2002, when the Permanent Secretariat of ACTO was created, GIZ has supported it in its mission to promote the sustainable development of the Amazon Region and the well-being of its inhabitants.
A sociologist by training, Rosenauer has worked at GIZ in a committed manner for more than three decades and has been a key player in the success of cooperation projects between Brazil and Germany in areas such as renewable energies, biosphere protection and climate change.
