The ACTO and the World Food Programme Formalize the Signing of a Letter of Intent during COP 16 of the CBD

Cali, Colombia, October 29 – The Amazon Cooperation Treaty Organization (ACTO) and the World Food Programme (WFP) formalized their strategic alliance through the signing ceremony of a Letter of Intent to identify areas of inter-institutional cooperation aimed at promoting food and nutritional security in the Amazon region.

The signing ceremony took place at the Amazonía Siempre Pavilion (ACTO & IDB) at COP 16 of the CBD, with representatives from both institutions in attendance.

The agreement establishes a collaboration framework allowing both organizations to explore opportunities for developing joint strategies on food and nutrition-related issues. This framework also seeks to create synergies that support the strengthening of integration networks in the region.

The alliance aims not only to address immediate needs but also to develop long-term solutions for the region by building local capacities and implementing sustainable public policies.
