Today, August 9, the International Day of Indigenous Peoples is celebrated and this year’s theme is dedicated to “Indigenous Languages” coinciding with the International Year of Indigenous Languages. The ACTO recognizes the various indigenous peoples of the Amazon Region that contribute to the diversity, cultural wealth, sustainable development and preservation of the Amazon Region.
