ACTO recognizes the essential role of Indigenous Peoples and local communities in the preservation of the Amazon, and works to strengthen their rights, ensure their full and effective participation, and promote dialogue between ancestral knowledge and public policies aimed at the sustainability of the biome.
This axis is guided by the principles of respect, diversity, and cooperation. It strengthens the voice of Indigenous Peoples and local communities in regional governance and values their knowledge, practices, and ways of life as a fundamental part of the Amazon’s future.
