Program for Biological Diversity of the Amazon Basin/Region

This Program is the long-term guiding framework for the development and implementation of strategic actions and cooperation with the objective of improving the management of biological diversity and the protection of traditional knowledge of indigenous peoples, local and traditional communities in the Amazon. On the other hand, within the Program’s framework, a Rapid assessment of biological diversity and ecosystem services of the Amazon Basin/Region will be carried out, as an important input to guide the countries’ public policies in the Amazonian territories, based on reviewed and updated scientifc information.
