Joint projects between ATCO and FAO are discussed at work meet

Rome, June 24, 2019. To create an immediate operability of the memorandum of understanding, (MoU), which will be singed on Wednesday (26) between the ACTO and the FAO, the Secretary General of ACTO, Alexandra Moreira, carried out today a meeting with the FAO Deputy Director of Forestry Affairs, Hiroto Mitsugi and his work team.

During the meeting, subjects related to the implementation of the MoU were discussed. It was agreed to possibly present projects for joint funding projects, in areas of forests, land recovery, biodiversity and fishery.

The FAO representative was aware of the important role ACTO has as a regional organizations for the conservation and harmonious development of the Amazon Region.

ACTO’s Secretary General expressed her expectations to consolidate the work of both organizations in the themes of common interest. She also stressed the importance of the regional work of the countries to implement projects, facilitating a joint action with results of greater reach in favor of one of the most important biomes of the planet.
